Robert Ivy: Recipient Of The Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Ivy, recipient of the very honorary and prestigious award, the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award it’s a very special celebration. The reason being that this is the high honor and special celebration is because Robert Ivy marks the first time an architect has ever won this award. This award is given to those who live in the Mississippi area and have completed a great and well-known body of work. Many who have received this award include artists, actors, designers, but never an architect, marking Ivy to be the first.

Today, Ivy is the chief executive officer, as well as executive vice President of the D, which is the American Institute of architects. Under his leadership, more and more architects are becoming members, including new ones from countries such as Canada. Ivy has been known to have this effect on companies, and helping them grow and expand in members and clients.

Under Ivy leadership as editor-in-chief of McGraw-Hill’s architectural record magazine, Robert Ivy helped to drastically increase the amount of readers that the magazine head, as well as help the magazine win a number of many procedures awards. Namely, one award that the magazine one under Ivy was the title of the National Magazine Award.

Robert Ivy attended to Lane: University of the South earning an MBA there, as well as Tulane University, and which he completed his other MBA and extensive training in architecture at the School of Architecture. Ivy also served as a serviceman in the US navy, before he began his interest in the architecture field. He specifically served in the U.S. Navy.

Ivy, in addition to being the chief executive officer, and executive vice President of the American Institute of architects, is also known for being in architecture commentator, and an efficient communicator of the value of design and architecture to individuals.

Ivy has also served as a literary critic for many publications throughout the United States, especially in the years from 1981 through the year 1996.

Another award, that Robert Ivy one was in March 2010, in which America is architecture fraternity, Alpha Rho Chi awarded him the title of being a “Master Architect.” Only a few others have been honored with this prestigious award, the other majorly know and architects that have been honored with this award include Dr. Nathan Clifford Ricker, who is actually one of the first graduates from a school of architecture in the US, as well as a select few of others.
